As I picked up the pieces from our disaster with the kiln this morning, it was time to quickly shift gears. (See my post on our clay owls). So instead of glazing today, we delved into oil pastels on black paper. This third grade lesson began with an overview of the beautiful cat art of Laurel Burch. The focus for today was pattern and design, color use and contrast. Look for this project to come home after a short stint up on our walls at school.
